Welcome to my contribution to the second Pootlers blog hop. Whether you have come direct as one of my subscribers or via a link from one of the other contributors, I hope you find lots of inspiration on the way.
Ok so it’s a bit of a corny title, and I don’t often buy dies for boxes as I think I can make most with my trusty trimmer and score board, and if I am honest I usually have lots of other things higher on the list. However I think this is worth the money as without it you have to resort to templates and let’s be honest they don’t make as crisp or tidy a box as a die. I have made a smaller version of this without a die which you can see on my video.

Stampin Up have done a video on how to make the cake box which you can see
This is a new die from Stampin Up and can be purchased HERE in my online store along with all of the other supplies you will need. It is a good size and apart from the obvious cake slice it could easily hold a whole variety of treats or gifts, not to mention money or a gift card. Stampin Up have uploaded a video on how to use it. As you will see from the video it is easy to assemble and uses just two pieces of card. The extra dies you get in the pack are great to add embellishments, trim the sentiment from Sweet Stack or cut a window.
Dimensions for my mini cake box are:
Card 6 x 7-1/4 inches
Score long at 1-1/2, 3-5/8, 5-3/4 inches
Score short at 2 and 4 inches
DSP 1-3/8 x 2 inches and cut to mid point of 2 inches or use the tree punch, sides two pieces 1-3/4 x 2, back one piece 1-3/4×1-1/4
I hope you have enjoyed this idea, next stop is the lovely Louise at white flag designs. If you joined me from Louise, then please hop to the previous blog in the list lilkatscrafting.
