This is a lovely variant on a criss cross card that only uses a single piece of 12″ cardstock – and you can get two cards from one sheet.
Start with a piece of Pacific Point stock measuring 5″ x 12″ (131186 for a Brights pack of 12×12 which is 20 sheets – 2 of each colour). Score at 3- ½ ” and again at 8- ½ “.
Make a mark on the two outside edges at 1 ½ inches up from the bottom and cut from the score line diagonally to the mark.
That creates your basic card and all you need to do is add your DSP and embellish. For the centre I added a 4 ¾ ” square of patterned paper to the inside of the card with a 4 ½” square of Whisper White that I stamped using the Watercolour Wings stamp set.
To create the panels, inside and out I cut four pieces of DSP. I used the Pretty Petals DSP 138442 which has a matching A4 cardstock pack 138992 which is great for projects.
Panel on front of card 3-3/8 wide x 4-5/8 high. Mark point at 1 3/8 from bottom and cut diagonally.
With careful cutting and orientation of the pattern I was able to get all the panels from 2 sheets of 6 x 6 DSP. I did this by cutting the diagonal line first and then using the two widest pieces for the panels. I will endeavor to record a video to demonstrate!
I added a butterfly with a dimensional in the middle to the front to act as a closure.
Hope you enjoyed this project and that you join me again for my fancy fold series.
