Gift packaging with dragonflies

So today I thought I would share some gift packaging with you.  I have a lovely friend and colleague Sarah who had a birthday last week.  She is in the process of decorating her spare room and so we have spent lots of time looking at soft greys, she also has a love of dragonflies, candles and America , so when I saw this in a Yankee Candle shop on my recent holiday, it really did tick all the boxes.

Of course then I was left with the challenge of packaging a very awkward shape.  So a custom box it was and then to decorate.  One of the great things about Stampin Up is the range of products and styles of stamps and this one from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set fitted the bill perfectly.  One of the things that makes Stampin Up such a great company is the co-ordination.  I used the Bermuda Bay cardstock for the lid, which picks up the dragonflies stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.  I also made some gift packaging to contain some fabulous pork rub (another fave of Sarah’s is pulled pork!) so I just made a quick free standing gift bag with a few retired Bermuda Bay sequins to jazz it up.

I hope you like this

  1. So cute! That candle holder and box are wonderful!

When you mentioned pork rub, my brain went totally the wrong way, thinking it was some type of balm for the skin to soften or relieve tension!

The explanation about pulled pork clued me in on it being a DRY rub of spices!

Yes, I have had my coffee! Ugh!

  2. How hilarious, just goes to show how our brains work differently! You are right, it was a pack of spice rub….but I will be telling her your thought…she’s mad enough to give it a go! Thanks for reading anyway and glad you liked the box.
