Ferrero Friday Twist Top Box

Ferrero Friday twist-top-box by Heidi Smith Flutterbyheidi Uk Stampin up demonstrator

Hi everyone,

this box is inspired by a little leather purse from my childhood.  I loved origami, so the idea of a little coin purse with this twisting closure appealed to me.  I was sure I still had the purse around somewhere – but I cannot find it just now to share.  I expect there are hundreds of versions of this box closure out on the web, but this is my take – scaled of course for a single Ferrero Rocher.  As I say in the video, this really needs to be made with DSP rather than card, as you need a bit of flexibility in the lid to be able to manipulate it into place, however once it has been opened and folded a couple of times – it seems to develop a ‘memory’ and folds more easily.  I seem to be having a mental block with the names of DSP when filming at the moment, but I can confirm that this is the Presents & Pinecones DSP 141986.  If you don’t have a die cutting machine, then the banners are easy to cut out by hand, although this set of framelits co-ordinates with FIVE different stamp sets in the Annual Catalogue, another two in the Autumn Catalogue- not to mention one of the hostess sets too :).  It is an investment, but one which I know you will not regret.  I find that now that Stampin’ Up! have increased their range of framelits and thinlets, I am using more of them each time I craft.

So on with the details

Materials

Designer Series Paper 6  x 4 1/8 (15 x 10.5 cms)

Scrap of Whisper White for the sentiment

Instructions

Score long edge at 1 3/8 , 2 ¾ , 4 1/8 and 5 ½ inches (3.5, 7, 10.5 and 14 cms)

Score short edge at 1 3/8 and 2 ¾ (3.5 and 7 cms)

Trim away small square at the bottom and angle the edge at the top on the narrow section (this will be the closing flap)

Score diagonally all four squares at the top and fold and burnish well.

Make up box and gently squeeze the top together adding slight pressure to twist.

Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Whisper White and die cut.  Shape using a bone folder and adhere to the corner of the box
