Advent countdown week 2 Origami Star Tag

Hello again, this week is chaos in my house, a new kitchen means everything has had to be moved out…… how many trips to the tip?  And I suspect a few more when I declutter when it’s finished! They stripped out on Monday and started plastering Tuesday….so much dust! Still I’ve managed to get a couple of projects filmed of which this is one.  Origami star by Heidi smith flutterbyheidi Stampin Up U.K. Demonstrator

I started my love of papercraft as a child with origami and I still like to dabble, so here’s a pretty decoration or tag, you can go bigger, as long as the length is four times the width!

For a larger version (the practice one) you will need six pieces 6 inches x 1-1/2 inches, for the small Tag sized one, it is 3 inches x 3/4 inches ( 2 x 8 cm)

The This Christmas Specialty paper is ideal for origami projects as not only is it double sided it is also slightly lighter weight than the regular DSP. It uses Very vanilla , Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green with some Christmas themed patterns but also some plainer ones you could use at other times. It also has a coordinating cardstock pack of Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Very Vanilla so you don’t have to buy full packs of each.  The Emerald Envy version is made using Presents and Pinecones DSP.

the Tin of Tags stamp set is currently on offer with 25% discount,  it’s a great staple for adding accents to projects, not just for the Tin of Tags kit.

  1. Lovely Origami star you made.
Did I hear it right on your video…you say 1 1/2 x 3/4 inch for the small folded ones?
I tried it but it does not work, is the size of the paper the right size?.

    1. Hi, I’ll check the video , its 3/4 x 3 inches for the small, 1-1/2 x 6 for the large. Should work with any size as long as the length is four times the width
