This is a great starter fancy fold card as although it looks complicated it really isn’t too bad – it also uses minimal supplies – 1 ink, 1 card, 1 stamp set (OK I cheated I used a second for the butterfly) but you could only use 1!
As with most of my fancy folds, this folds flat to go in an envelope -but is probably best to give in person so you can show them how to stand it up – or you could make a box envelope (note to self to try and put measurements on here! – no promises, but I will try) As you can see from the photo you could use either Birthday Blooms or You’ve got this as the stamp set – I’ve used Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake, but I would be tempted to try it with Blushing Bride and Rose Red.
So on to the instructions………
Card 11 ¼ x 6 inches, Score long edge at 3 ¾ and 7 ½ inches
Turn the card portrait and cut at 3 inches to the first score line
Turn through 180 and line up right hand edge at 1 ½ inches and cut to the first score line
Cut away two top sections so you have a piece of card that looks like this
Turn over and draw a ¼ inch pencil line on each of the two side panels – then mark a 1 inch tab in the centre of each panel. Cut away to leave just the tabs.
Turn over and draw a pencil line ½ inch from the right edge
Bend the left panel over and line up the edge with the pencil line and mark the tab position
Cut a thin slot
Fold the left (larger) panel in and mark pencil line 1” from the fold.
Fold right panel and line up edge with pencil line and mark the tab. Open the card out flat and cut a thin slot.
Rub out all pencil lines
Stamp the Birthday blooms across the top of the main centre panel on a slight angle. Trim around the edge to create a shaped border. Repeat the process on the two shorter flaps with the smaller flower from the set.
Colour in using markers/aquapainters/blender pen
I hope you enjoy making this
