Just a quick post today to share a couple of cards I made recently, one for my mum as 11 March was Mothering Sunday here in the UK ( church festival) and one for my 21 year old.
It is a case of a card I saw shared recently by Lynda Shrimpton but this is with my take on it, I had forgotten about this stamp set and dies and it was just beautiful . Some selective colouring using the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set gave the custom sentiment. I stamped the flower in Rose Red to match the background and stamped off to get the lighter centre. Handcutting the flower was easy with the simple shape along with the stamped and embossed silver on smoky slate leaves. The stitched framelits made making a frame easy and the die cuts were glued direct to the background, with dimensionals to lift the frame, leaves and flowers.
I have tried to find Lyndas blog with the original but cannot find anything up to date but will link to it as soon as I can as she shares some lovely projects
UPDATE – Lynda let me know that her card was a CASE of one created by Alisa Tilsner, which you can see HERE
My second card is for my son Sam, who is 21 today…..where have the years gone? The colours represent his uni rugby colours of black and red, and of course the Sale a Bration DSP adds the bling! The reverse of the card uses milestone moments for the sentiment which I embossed in gold (so hope we get rose gold embossing powder soon!) but I forgot to photograph before writing on it! The downside of making such a long card is trying to photograph it!As it coincided with Mothering Sunday we had a lovely meal out in my local Nepalese restaurant Mount Everest. We are regular visitors as it is so good. If you are in the area I would recommend a visit. Click HERE to go to their website
This is me with my hubby and two boys its not a great shot – but will act as a memory for us all,. For those celebrating Mothering Sunday in the UK I hope you had a lovely day either spoiling others or being spoiled
