So a new year’s resolution is to join in with more blog hops – and my friends work really hard to make these happen – so the least I could do is have a go! I literally didn’t make this until Friday night – and Romance is not my comfort zone! Still I love the sentiment on this stamp set and the papers are so pretty that I think it turned out ok and just about meets the brief of Romance. I took the inspiration for the fancy fold from Leonie Shroder, but instead of using 12 x 12 paper, I have sized it to be cut from UK A4 . Another addition to the design is to add a stand to the reverse. I have always been frustrated that pocket cards cannot easily be displayed by the recipient….so this one will happy stand up on its own and that means you can keep the inner either in the pocket or prop it up inside 🙂
The Designer Series Paper in this pack is lovely and this card uses only a small piece but showcases both sides, I then used the vellum on the reverse of the insert as I think it is pretty enough to be shown off in its own right. I used the focal image and sentiment from the same stamp set, which I coloured using Stampin’ Blends – given I little more time, I am going to recreate using watercolours too to see how that looks. Also available are framelits that co-ordinate with the stamp set…I have resisted so far, but it is tempting if you wanted to add some more dimension to your card.
So if you want some romantic inspiration from some very talented ladies (yes all ladies in the hop ….but I did check 🙂 )…use the NEXT button below to hop forward to the lovely Lisa who I am sure will have something really pretty for you..
I’ll be adding the video for this to YouTube and updating this post with the link tomorrow, so subscribe to either my YouTube or to my blog (see button on the right) if you would like to be updated when I post more projects
