Remembrance Day Wreath

Usually in November I (and many others) take part in the annual Remembrance Day Parade in our village, but I suspect that this year it will be a little different. A suggestion was made in our village isolation support group to display a poppy picture in our windows during November, so what a perfect opportunity to use the beautiful Poppy Moments Dies to create a wreath for my window.

Apart from quite a bit of die cutting ( 🙂 ) this is really easy to do, but I thought I would share well in advance of 11 November in case any of you want to get the dies and create your own.

I used Real Red for the main flower shape and then Poppy Parade for the detailed die – Basic Black for the centres of coursem then Mossy Meadow and Old Olive for both types of leaves. The sentiment die ‘In Support of the Royal British Legion is Tattered Lace die that I have had for some years (the purchase included a donation to the RBL) but I thought it was perfect to finish off the wreath.

The base (that hopefully you cannot see) is made from three circles of card from the DSP packaging – I used my dinner and side plates to draw the circles and cut out the ring. Simply adhering the poppies using dimensionals and then glueing the other elements in place brought it all together and actually it is pretty sturdy, but still lightweight enough to hand on my window using a command strip hook.

I hope this has inspired you

  1. Oh Heidi! I’m definitely going to Case this wreath. I love paper crafting & gardening. What a perfect combo for both of my “loves”. Thanks so much for all the inspiration!
