Sunday Scoring Double Twisted Easel

Double twisted easel

Here I am again with Scoring Sunday, my series of Fancy Fold cards

As it is Mothering Sinday here in the UK on March 6th I thought I would share a lovely colour combo and design which could be used for just such an event and which could be left on display.

I have used the World of Dreams stamp set, which has a lovely orchid silhouette, which I coloured using Stampin Write Markers.

So to make the card….

Here is the scoring and cutting plan:

Double_twisted_easel_plan

Cut A4 card 21 x 21 cm and score at 10.5cm

Rotate and cut at 10.5 to middle score line only

Score diagonals from the middle to the outer corners (this should now look like the diagram above).

Cut two pieces of card 10.5 x 10.5 and attach to folded panels, I then cut an additional three panels for each side 10 x 10 in a contrast colour and 9.5 x 9.5 in Love Blossoms DSP and 9 x 9cm for stamping.  The new cardstock packs make it easy to get lovely colour co-ordinations that match with DSP.

Create either a single long bar or two small stoppers to hold the easel in place.  I decorated mine using the itty bitty flower punch and some candy dots in Blushing Bride, with a further strip of DSP cut in half to decorate.  This was popped up on dimensionals along the length to give a good ledge for the easels to rest  against.  I stamped all of the images using Crumb Cake ink and part stamped just the tree branches around the edge of the left panel.  I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso to give some contrast.

For the middle triangular panel I cut a mat of card 10 x 10 and cut in half diagonally and did the same to a 9.5 x 9.5 piece of Whisper White.  I coloured the flower using Stampin Write Markers to get the coloured orchid.
