Scrapbooking

Petal Passion Scrapbook layouts

So a bit of a different blog post today, just a sharing of two samples I created for display using the Petal Passion DSP for scrapbooking.  I have enjoyed scrapbooking over the years, but find I just don’t have the time for traditional scrapbooking, and use Memories and More instead as a quick and easy way to create albums, so the requirement to create scrapbook pages as part of the display certainly pushed me out of my comfort zone…along with using black and white !

So the first one is a photo from a family holiday in the Ionian Islands a few years ago.  It is one of the few photos I have of us all together as I am usually hiding behind the camera!  I had seen a layout like this and thought that the bright colours of the photo made a lovely contrast to the black and white of the DSP.  It’s a really quick layout with varying width and length strips of DSP, which are then cut using the banner punch.  You could vary the look of this by either colouring the DSP with markers, or using a brayer over the top.

This photo is an old one of my eldest when he was very little (he is nearly 21 now!) but it is such a cute photo and again really vibrant colours in both the inflatable and the sun suit edges that I have picked up in the base card.  The black and white layers provides a frame and just a bit of simple stamping.  I will be adding the date to this…time flies too quickly!

Anyway I hope these provide some useful inpiration for you and encourage you to get your photos out and do something with them 🙂

  1. Hi Heidi,

I have never ever been a scrapbooker type of crafter, but I can see the attraction and the Petal Palette DSP is a great set to use as it is monochromatic against beautiful coloured photographs. :O)
