Hi everyone, at the time of writing this, we are having a heatwave here in the UK (last summer I remember like this was 1976!) the grass is parched and the days are long with clear blue skies…..we’re not used to that in the UK…well not for more than 24 hours anyway! Anyway in the heat of the day, my old house (it is 120 years old!) is actually lovely and cool downstairs, so the dog is happily sprawled out on the kitchen floor, and I am taking shelter from the heat and catching up on my blog posts.
I was away for a few nights with work last month, and so one evening I spent some time crafting in my hotel room and created this week’s cards. I took a mini die cutting machine and was really pleased that with the limited colours and materials I had with me, I managed to create 3 different cards.
I love dreamcatchers, both the idea and also the pretty effect, I have always loved feathers, for years in my room as a teenager I had a jar of peacock feathers! These all use a muted palette, but I have seen some lovely bright versions, so I might just have to have a play. I wanted to create a simple background to echo the sentiment so simply die cut the word three times and added to the background, I probably could have done a better job lining them up…but hey it’s handmade!
It’s a standard card base with some narrow layers,, but here are the dimensions if they help…
